I really do love the little shits.

My daughter and son-in-law are moving this weekend, they managed to buy this wee little house. I volunteered to watch two of the three boys, I got the 5 and 2 1/2 year old, the baby went to the sister-in-law. I had them for eight hours today (happy Grandmom's Day to me) and goddamnation but they are a handful. The first couple of hours weren't too bad, I found "Brain Play" these educational CD-ROMs for the oldest and he happily sat at my computer for TWO AND A HALF HOURS! Any one who has ever had kids knows what a miracle this is.

I took them to the park where the youngest promptly started throwing sand around and got some in his eye. He also sneezed the whole time we were at the park, looks like he goes back on the baby Claritin. I put my hand in fresh birdshit while I was there, it was on a stair railing. Bathed them when we got back home, they were filthy. Besides feeding them breakfast, snacks, taking them to Jeruselum's for lunch, and more snacks, they ate between meals. They demanded to be fed constantly. They are lean and active, and they eat all the time, kind of like sharks. They fell over things, put things in their mouths they shouldn't, banged on all of our musical instruments as loud as they could, wanted entertainment usually involving extreme physical exertion on our part, teased each other, took 10 minute naps to recharge (you can mix and down a cocktail in 10 minutes!) and were at it again. I love them to death. Can't wait to have them over again. Okay, not for 2 weeks at least. Maybe longer. We'll see.
