Gotta love 'em. I had the two oldest (5 years and 20 months) over for about 5 hours yesterday. We went to Loring park and played in the sand and played in the kiddie pool. It is amazing how much little kids love the water. Grandson #2 gets so excited that he starts squealing and shaking the minute he sees the water. They will stay in there until they look like prunes.
Grandson #1 always has the same routine lately when we walk to the park. He says hi to everyone we meet and then this line: "I'm going to Loring Park!". Then, after we pass them he says to me, everytime, "People looove Loring Park". I should put him in a commercial promoting our community.
Grandson #1, who will start kindergarten this fall, is reading. He can't read everything but he can still read a lot. The weird thing is that he is coy about it, when you catch him reading he will deny that he can. My daughter thinks that this is because he is afraid that people won't read to him anymore if he can read himself.
