Nick never thought that his lover could blush. Gil just wasn't the type to blush. And not so furiously. Nick watched him interested and smiled.
„Is there something you want to tell me, Gil?“ he asked and tried his best to keep a serious face.
Of course he knew about the little incident with the...impressive...woman at the pool. Greg had told him everything about it...with barely hidden laughter. So Nick asked Grissom how his day had been.
His reward was a lovely shade of red on his lover's face. And with a smile he kissed it away.

Usually they're blue...like now. But sometimes they appear to be more turquois. When he's very concentrated for example.
And there are times when they're grey...like a clouded sky over a thundering sea...this is the color Nick likes the most. The first time he saw this color they had just been making love. Now when Nick sees this color he smiles. And must do his best not to kiss his lover.

Gil stood before the mirror, frowning. And not for the first time he wondered what his lover saw in him. His face was wrinkled from age, his hair was heavily interlaced with grey, turning white and his body was...well rounded to put it mildly. And Nick? He was everything Gil was not. Well, not anymore.
A loud laughter coming from his lover made him turn around. He gazed at Nick who was standing beside him, his face close to the mirror, watching intently his beautiful dark hair. „What are you laughing at, Nicky?“
Nick smiled at him and motioned him to come closer. Curious now, Gil stepped up to him. Nick bowed his head a bit and pointed to one special section.
„You see that?“ he asked, still with a big grin on his face. Gil tried his best but all he saw were the silken strands of his lover's hair, so he shrugged helplessly.
Nick came closer, embraced him lovingly and gave him a tender kiss. „I just discovered my first grey hair. See? I'm getting old.“

The ring Nick gave him.
A hand on his shoulder makes him smile. Nick. „Let's go home,“ a voice breathes into his ear. He nods.
When he‘s in his car he casts one last glance at the incredible blue Las Vegas sky and smiles.

Gil looked amazing but the tie in Nick's hand made him wince. “It's not my color.“
Nick got angry. „But it fits perfectly.“
„It doesn't. The color is...wrong.“
Wrong? Nick frowned. Gil saw that frown and gave in. But he was certain...purple really wasn't his color!

The earth was brown. Nick shuddered slightly when he looked at it. Brown, thick, unyielding.
Deadly.
Almost twenty-four hours he had been hidden beneath the earth. Lying underneath sand and dirt. In a glassy casket. And still he couldn't look at the brown earth without a slight tremble running through him. A hand at the small of his back tore him out of his dark thoughts and he looked at his lover. And for the first time he realized that Gil's hat was brown, too. A lighter brown.
Maybe he should concentrate on the lighter things in his life?

It was luck that they didn't fall down but before one of them could say something, the object of their interest came running.
„Gris! Nick! You okay?“
The both men nodded before Nick suddenly broke down laughing, pointing in a helpless gesture at Greg's hair.
„Green, Greggo? That's a new one!“

Now he was standing in the middle of nowhere with his former team gathered around him, staring after the ambulance.
„I want my guys back.“
Somehow even his words seemed to be colourless.
