Okay, I'm sure that some people on my flist may not agree with my opinion about Robert Enke's death. If you, dear reader, think that he was a hero, skip this entry and do not continue reading.
Okay?
I can't stand this enormous hype they make now about the death of Enke. In my eyes he's a coward.
Okay, he lost his child a few years ago. That's tragic. And he was suffering from a depression. Also tragic.
But ... !
He adopted a little baby (2 months!) with his wife in May! And now he left them all alone. Threw himself in front of a train and shocked the living daylights out of the poor traindriver.
And now he gets a funeral "as germany has seen it last forty years ago". A whole bunch of celebrities are coming, calling Enke a "hero for the youth", a "rolemodel" and stuff like that.
Sorry ... but that's too much. He's a coward! He killed himself! Leaving his wife and his baby behind to deal with the mess.
In my eyes that's not a hero.
If someone like Michael Jackson gets the "Funeral of the Century" than that's more than earned but not someone like Enke who took the coward's way out.
