(no subject)
i think i'm just going to stop apologizing for not being around. perhaps if i stop guilting myself about it, i will actually post more. idk, it's me-logic, i didn't say it made sense.
things in a list!
+ we'll find out "anytime between the 15th and 28th" whether or not my boss got her promotion. sooooo as soon as friday i could be celebrating, or drinking myself to death.... or it could have to wait until another two weeks from now. akjfsdfsl. patience and i are not closely acquainted.
+ so i completely blame sineala for nudging me into 'the eagle' fandom... and what a delicious place it is. this is actually how i get into most fandoms: i see someone on my flist whose writing i love, who has written a story in a new fandom. i go "oh, i was thinking about picking up this canon, and if this person likes it then it must be good. i will now go see that/read that so i can read their fic." then i do (or in some cases like this one i read the fic first, lol, which usually catapults my need to absorb the canon to even greater urgency) and then go "must find more fic must find more fic must find more...oh shit, what have i done?" and bam, i'm in a new fandom.
in any case the movie was excellent, i will be happy to share a link if anyone wants it. the soundtrack is also killer, i've been listening to it on loop, basically. and there's a kink meme, and it's full of awesome, and full of other fic writers i love, and yadda yadda. romans. britons. honor. valor. gay. done.
+ picked up china mieville's "un lun dun" on a whim and really liking it. i'm not as bowled over by it as i have been by his others, but it's mieville, so it's still excellent. actually it's a bit of a relief to know he doesn't always write heart-wrenching soul-stealing world-altering novels every time. the guy is only human... right? :3
+ also about 2/3 done with my reread of 'game of thrones' with four days to go before the premiere. i know i don't have to have the entire BOOK read by then, lol, but i'd like to. it's pretty great rereading after so long, remembering so vividly why i wanted to bring jon to TR, and sandor too... and tiny canon bits i've completely forgotten, like that sandor had a sister who died under strange circumstances when they were little... it's just cool, like getting to know all the characters all over again, almost. i'm loving it.
+ i said i was avoiding technology tonight, because between emails, facebook messages, texts and phone calls i have about twenty pieces of communication to take care of right now, and i'm extremely overwhelmed. but i haven't posted in so long, and i've been meaning to, so. if you're waiting on any of the aforementioned from me, i'm not ignoring you. tomorrow is "answer all the things" day.
+ .....also "do all the taxes" day. ffuuuuuuuuu.
+ i really, really need my own place. if my boss doesn't get promoted i don't know what i'm going to do, because i really can't afford to live by myself (actually i'll barely even be able to afford to move out) on my current salary, and without the promotion i will definitely have to have roommates. which, given that my last housemate situation could be charitably described as a disaster, is not something i'm keen on. and i kind of hope i find out if she gets the promotion on friday, because there's an amazing place in providence that's on the low end of my theoretical on-a-manager's-salary budget, heat/water included, with a fucking claw foot tub. and i don't want it to go awaaaaaaaay, lol. *claws face* but really, i'm just feeling claustrophobic here, i need more than two rooms to spread out in, or even just two rooms and a bathroom that are all mine, and i am SO FUCKING SICK of living in the eaves, i cannot even tell you. i am so excited for walls that go all the way up to the ceiling. :x
+ my coworker val (who if i become manager will become my assistant manager) is currently watching firefly for the first time. she just posted to my facebook to say jaynestown is next. i'm so excited, lol. it's almost as exciting as chatting with peregrina as she reads game of thrones. i love sharing my canons. :D
okay that's it. now i really am tired and i need to get an outline of my story for the k/s fanzine done cus it's due may 28 and guess how many words i have written? hahaha. yeah. okay.
