new fandom means new icon
so okay, i get that i'm the last person like, ever, to get on the SGA train. but i'm on it now, you guys. booooooyy am i on it. the scary thing isn't the amount of fic i've consumed over the past week (though that is a little scary) it's that every time rodney is on screen i have the thought "oh, so that's what i'd be like if i'd been a freak about science instead of books. AWESOME." except by awesome i mean, goddamn, why *didn't* i become a freak about science, because then i could be on my way to another galaxy to hang out with john sheppard. XD
no but really, a rec list post will probably be happening soon, because hot damn. also, i appeal to you flisters, some of whom i know are way more seasoned fans than i -- please rec me your favorite fics! as the icon would indicate, i have a preference for mckay/sheppard, but i'll read anything you guys rec me. i've basically just been surfing AO3 and clicking everything that looked interesting. and rereading
cesperanza's 'written by the victors' seven thousand times. :3
also a note : i am on delicious and would love to friend any and all of you who also are. my account is under killerbeautiful and i have a few of you friended but if you want to co-network each other, lemme know your account name and i'll add you. :D
in other non-new-fandom-flail-y news, i have passed 7K words with my big bang! jesus christ i thought i would never hit a stride, seriously, but i finally seem to have gotten to a point where i sort of know what i'm doing. i'm really flipping out over my lack of LJ at work because it means i'm doing a really shitty job modding stbbsupport, and that has got to change. hopefully after this weekend-- cus next week i'm only working 50 hours instead of 70 like i am this week. D:
and in real life news : i'm applying for the manager-in-training job at my store. if i get it i'll be making exactly as much as i'm making now, except i'll only have one job. sounds like a motherfucking jumping-off point to me, what do you think? :3 the plus side is i'm the only person from our store applying; the minus side is that if corporate doesn't think i'm qualified they'll just leave the store without an MIT until someone they do find qualified applies. soooo yeah. fingers crossed.
okay. time to finish this episode and go to fucking BED. third double shift in a row tomorrow; shoot me in the head please. *flump*
