late musings
i should be going to sleep now. alas, early bedtime, i knew it, horatio....
tomorrow after work i'm going up to spend the weekend with a bunch of my closest friends so we can bid goodbye to peregrina and sekala as they embark on their seven-week journey to make the el camino pilgrimage in spain. it's odd that for seven years none of us have ever been this far away from each other. it feels like a loss, almost, when i know the time will go by so fast we'll barely have realized it before they're back. seven weeks, that's like nothing; seven weeks ago i was unemployed and tearing through a stack of library books while my mom recovered from her hand operation. feels like nothing. still, there's something to be said for knowing they're not just a phone call or a train ride away. it feels strange, when it's almost never happened before.
anyway, it's late and i am way too tired to be musing on this shit right now. mostly i just wanted to show off my icon, which i've been wanting to make for myself for about eight hundred years now and finally found someone who'd capped IT so i could do it. huzzah.
