We just got hit by a mega storm in the middle of a sunny afternoon. It stayed sunny, but hail was pelting down, and the rain was so heavy it bounced back up off the pavement.
Well, I had some weekend...
Went to Newcastle with my flatmate on sat night to a party that Amy invited us to. And it took almost 6 hours!! I kid you not... I could have WALKED to Newcastle in that time. Apparently a lightning strike took out the line somewhere near Gosford, so we had to get a different train to Hornsby (don't know why) that was an all stations, not a three stops one, then wait, with about 300 or 400 other seriously pissed off people 2 hours until any buses arrived.. again, I kid you not.. instead of getting buses from sydney, which is half an hour away along the highway, they got them from Newcastle, which is 2 hours away. All hail Michael Costa and his stupendous organisation of cityrail. and the Cityrail staff were really rude. Like, not just rude to the people who were hassling them, but rude to the people who wanted to know where they should be standing etc..
anyway.. we left our house at 5:45pm and arrived in Newcastle at 11:30... as a consequence we were forced to drink lots of scotch, dance lots, stay up all night and watch the sunrise over the beach. Was a pretty cool night, even if I only knew about 3 people. Apart from that whole 6 hours in transit thing...
Also, worked my last shift at Newspoll, where I have been for 4 years.. on the count of three, everyone say YAY . .. ... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND... I got a phone call from the people I had a job interview with on thursday and they want me to come in again tomorrow for "a chat" (their words).. I think that's cool... although I do feel like I'm being dragged over hot coals to make sure I'm up for the job.. that first interview went for over an hour.
Music!! I need some music!! (I turned it all off cos of the storm)
