yesterday was such a beautiful day, it was made for frolicking - and luckily, washing.
we got up at 6am and went down to canning vale to the fish market..i totally freaked conrad out by picking up several whole squid, a whole pink snapper, and a few bream, amongst other things. he was pretty excited about the fried squid and spaghetti marinara we had for dinner, though. it's good for us to see the raw materials sometimes, it's grounding.

we've been deliberating about getting a family pet (besides the goldfish) since Blanche died. we'd like a puppy, and i'd like to have six months off work to train it and look after it properly - but i don't want one without the other, so we're not going to do that. it just wouldn't be fair on the poor thing that we just aren't home for at least ten hours a day, most days.

so we're thinking a cat. of course then there's the question of inside only or inside / outside, both have their advantages. we've checked out a few breeds, but that's mostly for information only, as we'll end up getting one from the cat haven or rspca probably anyway.

we're going to melbourne in november and could probably get our neighbour, alison to look after kitty, though i'm conscious of abandoning the kitty for ten days so recently after getting it. hmmmmm.. the sensible thing is probably to wait until after the trip.

today.. yum cha and museum. woo!
