WHAT A DAY!!!! I had to wake up this morning at 6am to get ready and drive to Vallejo for STUPID Jury Duty. I get there, and this lady that was supposed to be there starts crying to the lady in charge saying that she has a rash and just wants to go home, and she doesn't want to be there. So what happens?? The lady in charge lets her go home!!!!
I had to be in the courthouse by 8am, and finally at like 930, the judge calls us in. They call up 12 names to sit in the jury box and each of them have to answer some questions. They each have to answer, their occupation, their marital status, their spouses' occupation, any history of being on a jury, and how long they have lived in the area. Let me tell you, there were some characters called in the box!! One man, starts to tell the attorneys and the judge how on his last jury, 2 out of 12 of them said not guilty, while the others said guilty. The ones that said guilty then said to the others,"Come on! We want to go home, just say guilty!" SO THEY DID!! And can you BELIEVE that the man told the attorneys AND the judge this?! Also, this SAME MAN said that if the defendant is there, then he is guilty. WHAT AN IDIOT?!! Has he NEVER heard of a person who is found innocent?! So...he was excused from the court room.
There were other people who were just going off. Saying how they do not want to be there, and because they are there, their business has to stop, and they can't make money unless they are there. Of course NO ONE wanted to be there, but still! Luckily, I did not get called to the jury box, they picked the 12 jurors before they called me. I left the courthouse at 11:45. WASTED TIME!!
Earlier this evening I was at Dominiques house, and my phone rings. It's a 916 number so I was thinking it was one of my friends just calling. OF COURSE NOT!! It was a Jefferson Commons person, telling me that I cannot move into my apartment UNTIL August 28th!! I was sooooooooooooo mad and would have gone off on her if Dominique's family wasn't sitting there. So, because of this, they are giving us a 1/2 month of rent free. WHO FREAKIN CARES?!?!?! Then I find out that some guys we know can't move in until OCTOBER 1st!!! How horrible is that?! I cannot wait for this nightmare to be over with, and to be sitting in my apartment with my friends, remembering how mad we were, and just laughing about it!
I start school at ARC on Wednesday, and my last day of work is on Thursday. Dominique moves into this new home on Saturday, so atleast I get to help him move in. He came over today to register for his classes AT SOLANO! Too bad school starts for him on Monday and the only class that was open still was his Basketball PE class! So, he'll have to go in the first day and add them all. Brad's friend Maggie left to go to school on the east coast the other night. I can tell he really misses her. I know how he feels, BELIEVE ME!
