I am in a great mood today.
I took my first two quizzes in my class and so far I have a solid A. Quizzes in total however are only 25 percent of my grade. I would REALLY like our discussions from this week to have their grades posted so I can see what I need to fix and start posting for next week. I have IDEAS! I think my over-zealousness is as off putting to my online classmates as it was in real life classrooms. I don't even care.
Mike hogged the computer last night. He broke our old one and his is at his house...so... I had to figure out how to entertain myself. That is okay as he is amping up to do some blogging stuff in hopes of scoring a record review piecework gig for a magazine. I think he should write, he is great at it. But his creative process is like very nervous and self critical.
I looked through my box of letters. Yes I save real life letters in a box, well unless they are hanging in my kitchen because I like the art and to look at cards every day. Now a days 4hour_ramona is really the only person who writes to me. And I feel lucky as they are always a surprise and awesome. I realize I need to return the effort, personal letters are really great. Many of the old letters from friends are hilarious to read. Some were from suitors...none who I ever dated. I am still friends with most people. Some letters are very soul searching and touching or reaching out when things were bad for me, or things were weird between myself and the author. Some were responses from me that I never sent. Like Oh My God I valley talked in letters in the early 90s, and said colorful phases like, "He shit cinder blocks!" All in all it was a very lovely and entertaining way to spend an evening. I feel so lucky to have wonderful people in my life.
I scored cheap tickets to Fun Fun Fun Fest today. 70 bucks for a weekend fest is not bad, in my opinion. Praise be to the cheap ticket lottery. The only bands leaked so far are Slick Rick, Suicidal Tendencies and Best Coast. I am good with that. I am already excited as it is my favorite fest, it is chill and laid back with yummy food and consistently interesting bands. I think my age group is their demographic because past oldies but goodie bands have included, Jesus Lizard, Bad Brains and Dead Milkmen. I like that I am looking forward to November when it is lovely cool weather and fun to walk about.
I made it to payday and did not dip into my savings. Paid all my bills and had money left over for tickets and put a little INTO my savings account. I am proud of myself.
