You know it's going to be an interesting day when you decide what to wear based on whether or not you'd be bothered by possibly bleeding on it.

If you're bothered by blood or body modifications it's probably best if you don't look under the cut.














So you don't have to guess, that's a 4ga hole.
It hurt a lot less than I thought it would. My (retired) snug piercing was 100x more painful, even my septum piercing that's closer to the tip of my nose hurt more. The worst part was when the drape was put over my face... Not being able to see made my heart rate spike like mad. When the punch got through to the layer of cartilage there was the most unpleasant crunching noise, audible to everyone in the room. It also sucked laying there, feeling the blood drip into/down my ear, listening to everyone comment on how cool it all looked and not being able to see. It's about 5 hours old now and the discomfort is unbelievably minimal. Mostly, it just feels warm.
The last picture is the piece that was removed, you can see the different layers of tissue. It's in our fridge right now. For a nickel I'll let you poke at it.
