a long time coming. get ready for a ramble.

it's been a really long time since i've updated. i've been so tired during the week from digging, but i absolutely LOVE being out in the field and doing archaeology (when the weather is nice!). i found a projectile point that is around 6,000-4,000 years old. WILD. and so neat that i found it. i was stuck in a group with the really really obnoxious girl who acted like a child and just really got on my nerves, but we changed groups, thank goodness. i am hoping that when i graduate in december, i can get a part time job with the mohegan or pequot tribe. that would be very cool. we went to visit the pequot museum on friday- it was awesome! i wish we had spent more time there- i'll probably go back on my own soon. the archaeology lab that they have there is HUGE. i would love to work in it. it is scary to think that in less than six months, i will be done with my bachelors, and officially an adult. ah! so weird! and intimidating... my birthday passed last week, and now i'm 22. birthdays, i have decided, are generally wholly disappointing- i expect to have such a great day, and me and joe pretty much did, but we ended up with a really shitty end to the night. i find whenever me and joe go out to a bar, we have a good time 10% of the time, and the other 90% he is in a bad mood or i am too tired. oh well. i really really want to see land of the dead. joe already saw it with one of his friends from work. i may go see a matinee alone today if i have time. i plan to spend the whole day cleaning, straightening, arranging, and running errands. this sunday night joe and i stayed at my aunty's house and hung out with her and her practically-husband-but-not-quite, eric. my aunt was always my favorite relative growing up- she's an art teacher in connecticut, and loves traveling and biking and is just really really cool. it was really great to spend the evening with her- we made pizza on a pizza stone, and had a campfire in the backyard. her kitties are really really cute. in the morning they made banana pancakes and bacon, and we had fresh papaya (which joe liked but i did not. i wish i liked fruit more, why can't my taste buds be healthy!). we did the whole family bbq thing at my nana's yesterday. it was nice. then we went to amber's in norwich to a little bbq get-together. i hadn't seen her in 6 months, so it was nice, but joe was really tired and uncomfortable being around new people for so long so we left around 9:30. it's always good to see amber, but sometimes i feel uncomfortable around art-school people because i'm not very arty. oh well. i guess i better start my cleaning. sorry this is such a disjointed entry!
