taxi cabs and flight paths

Week #1:

I learned a few things today. First, airport shuttles are not a reliant source of transportation when time is a factor, and not on your side. I sacrificed the $15 shuttle fare for a $35-one-way taxi, but was assured to arrive on time for class. I can get a rental car for the day for $23, plus an $8 parking fee on campus. That is much better than spending $70 on a taxi for the day or being late from the damn shuttle. The campus is only 10 miles from the airport, so it's not a long drive. However, traffic in LA is bad anytime of the day.

And since I did all my pre-boarding passes online, there's really no need for me to be at the airport 2 hours before my flight. I literally just walked from my car to the terminal in less than 15 minutes (including security checkpoints). By the way, you don't have to take your shoes off when going through the metal detector. However, the ol' belt buckle still gives them hell.

The class was an overview for me, which was nice. It validated that I'm on the right learning track for script. I think I might be the only one in the class who seriously wants to pursue a career as a script supervisor. Most of the others have dreams of directing or writing, so this is just another step to learning the process of film making.

Also, my Ipod video doesn't last as long as my flights. Bummer.
