[Leo just makes his way over, but- oh crap, what if his door is locked? Leo decides to use the window instead, pushing against it and peering down at Don in the bed, hanging onto the sill.]
[Don is twisted around on his bed making a valiant attempt to pick the lock. And failing miserably. He takes his eyes off of his work to look pointedly between Leo and the window, though.]
[Leo falls strategically so he doesn't crush his precious little brother and flips off the bed onto the proper floor before approaching the handcuffs, hands on his hips as he looks down at them.]
[Don shifts his hand over so Leo can get a better look at the lock and sighs, scrubbing a hand over his face. He hadn't been sleeping much lately.]
I would hope not. There's no way of knowing how long this - whatever this is - is going to last and the chance of those of us without properly skilled family members or friends dying of dehydration would be...exponential.
[Leo turns the handcuffs slightly, but it doesn't look like anything Don couldn't pick on his own. Must be enchanted or whatever it was the Captain did to make things physically impossible happen. He pauses at the sounds of "bedpan," but passes that since he isn't dealing with it until it's necessary.]
Yeah...though I wonder if there's any rhyme or reason to who he decided to lock up.
Some of the more volatile passengers - or those that aren't but are inclined toward violence for some reason - have been chained, and so I originally assumed that this was an attempt to keep the peace in the Captain's usual manner. Though then again, there are just as many of that type left free, which means it is more likely something else unless this is some sort of warning to them, though that seems...unlikely.
[Guess what Don's going to be doing for the next 24 hours?]

At least they left a bedpan.

[He's already distracted, twirling his lockpick between his fingers idly. You do get brief eye contact though.]

I can get a list of people confirmed to be handcuffed, if you think it'll help you figure something out.

[Have your brother's full attention again]
I just wanted to let you know my status and see if you could do anything about the lock. Have you heard from Mikey yet?
