Call and Answer

Being given a telephone number that will let you call the Archangel Gabriel doesn't mean that such a thing should be used lightly. Just as he would not ask God in prayer for frivolous things, Kurt hasn't exactly been calling Gabriel to chat about the weather. Today, however, he has news he knows the Angel will want to hear, if the object sitting on the table before him is what his alternate claimed it was.

Kurt hadn't even programmed the number into his cellphone; like a prayer, he'd memorized it. Perhaps some khabbalist would have found deep significance in the pattern of numbers, but Kurt didn't care what they meant, aside from insuring that Gabriel would hear his call.

...What does an Angel's ringtone sound like, anyway?
