For the RPers among us.
1) This was created with the ability to change the color behind the icons in mind. You can pick whatever colors you want and replace the color codes for that block, but you'll also need to change the color code for the border around the small icon to match. Just copy the appropriate rows and change the color.
2) It should look fine in all browsers, drop me a note if it doesn't. Only real difference is with IE where the rounded corners on the icons won't work and on IE7 the image doesn't resample well when shrunk. Oh and rounded corners on images aren't allowed in older versions of FF (under 4) and Chrome.
3) The symbols at the top are just everyday HTML special codes, you can use your own, make icons, or not have any at all. They're arbitrary.
