An interesting afternoon
On my drive home, I notice it's 98 degrees out. The bank says so. Also, I notice the traffic light closest to my house is out.
I get home, and attempt to turn on the AC. Nothing happens. I am frustrated and think the AC is broken until I connect the dots. I attempt to turn on the lights. Yup, power is out. I call the power company...estimated time the power will be back on? 8:45 pm. Ick. ...did I mention it was 98 degrees out?
I take dog out to the bathroom, get her food and water, and proceed to whine via text to anyone that will hear me. My ex-boss, who lives nearby, mentions that her power is not out, and I'm free to come eat/drink.
Her house is blessedly air conditioned. We sit on the deck, feet in a baby pool full of cold water, drinking pomegranate margaritas. Dinner is steak, potatoes and salad.
In short, I am content.
Also, power is back on.
