absolute BLISS........
It was my day off and I did everything (and nothing) today all at once... and it was all on my terms.
I know what you're thinking....
"Of course life's fabulous when it all goes YOUR way".
But it was the first day I had in ages that was truly "for myself".
I left work last night and headed to Jamie's for an evening of sheer vegetation.
We ran to the store to grab a movie to watch and a few items for our at home spa day the following afternoon.
I didn't realize "V For Vendetta" was such the hot ticket right now. No Blockbuster had any left for rent OR for sale.
Guess I missed that boat...
No matter, we rented "Breakfast On Pluto" with Cillian Murphy (my new celebrity man crush replacement for the over-used Jude), and proceeded to drool over what an absoutley STUNNING woman he made in the film.
Never have I ever been more attracted to a transexual character in my life like I was with this man.
Not to mention of course, he played the role brilliantly (which is always a turn on).
Today I went to the chiropractor and then went to Target to kill time waiting for Jamie to get back from her doctor's appt.
Found a great new pair of mahogany colored tall boot w/ thin heels for fall, as well as a grey herringbone patterned cropped blazer, black cropped trousers, 3 fitted v-neck cartigans (ala 1950's style) (in berry, black and heather green), and some wicked chunky jewlery.
It felt so nice to be able to buy these things and not worry how I was going to afford them later.
The last time I bought myself clothes was in London (and it wasn't my money!) :)
Then back to Jamie's for a long, long afternoon walk and some homemade spa recipes!
We just sat in her mother's meditation room and went to town.
First we made my signature "spa water" knocked off from this spa in Toronto we both went to last summer.
I swear it's the most refreshing water you'll ever drink.
PERIOD.
Try this at home:
1 or 2 gallon pitcher
1 lemon
1 orange
1/2 cucumber
few spigs of fresh mint
Directions:
Fill pitcher with ice. Peel the cucumber. Slice the cucumber, lemon and orange into 1/4 inch wheels. Add a few fresh mint leaves. Stir and chill in refridgerator for min 30 minutes. You'll never want regular water again.
And no spa day is complete without some healthy snack food to munch on: tropical fruit salad, pretzels, yogurt and chocolate graham crackers topped with a thin layer of fat free cool whip and fresh strawberry slices.
It's incredible how much shit you can find on the internet.
We made this amazing oatmeal blueberry honey almond facial masque , which, although we initally resembled the purple-people eaters, left our faces insanely tight and smooth. And this cucumber hair rinse which is supposed to help rejuvenate poolside or sun damaged locks.
Then came the anxiously anticipted 20 minute massage........complete with incense, candles, music and warmed oil; Only person besides Michael and Erin who does it hard enough.
We never made it to our herbal foot soak and pedicure upstairs because we ran out of time, but we'll find another excuse to do it soon.
It doesn't happen very often but I feel calm and insanely content right now.
Mark your diaries!
Weekend was a grand time spent in Allentown town @ Warehouse with some of my favourite people.
Had an awesome closing night with the cast of "The Immaculate" and thank you to Drew, Jamie, as well as, Ms. McAdam and family for coming out to support us.
