Sandy :(

Hello everyone! I hope those of you in the northeast are safe after Sandy.

Speaking of... a week and a half ago, I bought a betta girl. I've had several bettas and I've been around this community for years... but this girl is my first fish since my lovely Mango died in April 2011. I set her up in my 2.5 minibow, and had ordered a heater for her. On Sunday night, we had to evacuate and because I had to take my two kittens and my car was completely packed to the gills, I made the mistake of leaving Roxy in her tank. I did not expect that we'd have to be gone long, nor that we would lose power. She had a very rough few days settling in to her tank, and I mistakenly thought that leaving her there would be better for her than the stress of travel and new tanks over and over again.

Of course, we lost power and it's been out since Monday night. Today is the first day I can go up and get some things from my apartment, but with the temperature outside being in the high 40's and mid 50's, I'm really not too optimistic about Roxy being alive.

I feel absolutely terrible. I should have made room for her, I should have expected the damage from the storm.

If, by some miracle, she's still alive, what's the best way to handle her? Should I get her tank up to a better temperature in the apartment, and then move her? Should I put her in a betta cup and get her home as soon as I possibly can? Any tips?

Thanks guys.
