This past Wednesday, Kevin surprised me by taking the day off (a rare occurrence considering his employer) in order to celebrate our anniversary. No, it's not the anniversary of when we got married. It's the 2 1/2 year anniversary of when we started dating. Gosh, it seems like a long time when I say it, but it's hard not to compare that number to other couples who have dated/are still dating longer than we were before we decided to get married. When you know, you know, you know?
Anyway, it was a very refreshing day. Kevin played Rock Band with a friend online, we lay around the house, went out to find some geocaches, met up with a friend, bought some much needed miscellaneous items at the 100 yen store (magnets, dear lord, MAGNETS!), came home and made some dinner, watched "Across the Universe", took a bath, and then passed out. Quite a full and productive day!
Kevin also got me an anniversary present. Every time we're in Kamakura, we would pass by a kimono shop and in the window sat a little bunny dressed in a kimono. Every time I would see it, I would *squee* and exclaim on how one day it shall be mine.
Well, that day was Wednesday! I opened a little box and inside it was this adorable bunny. I'm calling her Chibi Usagi, or Little Rabbit in English. Unbeknownst to both of us was that it's not only an adorable little porcelain doll, but it's also a music box with a wind underneath her obi.
I'm not sure what song she plays but it's adorable and cute just like her. I can see our future (DISTANT future) girl child loving it. Anyway, I was looking for something to take around and photograph places and now I have something! I'm going to have to pick and choose where I take her since she's delicate and I don't want to dirty her beautiful kimono, but I've already taken her to Seto Shrine off of one of our train stops.
Sitting pretty and soaking in the spiritual goodness :)
