Week in Review: October 16, 2007

Yet again, no categories. I haven't accomplished enough to warrant categories.

Writing isn't going well, and I'm getting really frustrated with it. It's getting ridiculous. I've never really used the term "writers' block" and even now it doesn't quite seem to describe the problem. Whatever is happening, I need to kick it in the seat and get on with the work.

I've finished 4 books in the last two weeks. Two reviews have been posted over at witty_remarks: one for Naomi Novik's Empire of Ivory and the other for Robin McKinley's The Blue Sword. The other two will be showing up in the next week, along with at least one more for my final required text of the term.

We went to lunch downtown and then to the zoo for my birthday, which was lots of fun. We're flying out to the east cost on Friday to do the family visiting/memorial service thing and then visit with some friends from our college years who are still living in the Philly area. Matt has midterms this week, and I'm scrambling for my deadline next Wednesday, which makes for a rather high level of frustration and "there's no way I'm going to survive this week" in our house.

I'm not even keeping a To Do list this week. If I remember it or it's on my calendar, it'll get done. Otherwise, it's pretty much a crap shoot. I would be in a much better space mentally if I had my pages written for the deadline.
