Good days

*sigh*

I have a productive day, I sit down at the end of it to send out an update and watch some American Idol, and all of a sudden my neighborhood Denver station flips up the "emergency warning system" beeping bar code. What's that about?? It didn't even give me any pertinent storm warning information. In fact, it distracted me enough that I'm going to go check the weather right now, just to be sure... yeah, beware - we might get an inch of snow tomorrow. Woo! I'd better go buy milk and bread....

Anyway, here's the deal:

Woke up this morning: 6:15. Spent too much time checking email and random web stuff while eating breakfast, etc. I need to get a better handle on that. I did talk to Mom on the phone for a while and she put together an order to include with the Pampered Chef show that's getting submitted day after tomorrow. Spent more time sending emails/making calls to straighten out online ordering problems. Looks like the show is going to be worth the hassle, which is fabulous. I'm temped to break my resolve not to spend any more money on Matt's birthday next week, but I think in the end the purchase of matching rock climbing shoes (on sale at REI! quick!) might be the ticket, and we both win! Please note: I don't literally mean matching shoes. That would be silly, and a little creepy. Of course, some of it will also be reserved for the acquisition of a few more books. Never can have enough. Oh, right, and paying bills.

Did four loads of laundry. Woo! Took a 45 minute walk with Matt. It was a beautiful day. Read 35 pages or so of Word Work, which came so highly recommended by devilwrites that I couldn't resist. It's good, and seems to be helping slide me back into the groove of normal, non-depressed living. I'm working on catching up on all the reading I've been lagging on.

Wrote a big whopping 500 words (half of last week's whole output, so it is actually whopping) and figured out that if I can stick 600 words a day for the next week I'll be in good shape for my deadline and all the revisions that will need to happen with that.

In the next four days I get to bake two pans of amazing, fabulous brownies, a beef brisket, go rock climbing with Leah and Kristina tomorrow, close out the PC show, host a potluck at our house on Saturday, in addition to the normal end-of-week activities. Packing for the move will begin on Sunday, but nothing gets packed each day until I hit my word count. Woo double deadline!

And now I have to go sew my 1.5" strips of fabric together in a line and attach my brand new binding to the quilt. Groovy. Progress on all fronts.

quilting, books, pampered chef, writing, reading
