It's been a while

It's been a few months since I've posted anything on here.  If you've been stalking my Facebook (as most of you have, let's be serious) you know that Nick and I semi-eloped in the end of June.  We would have done a traditional elopement, but I didn't want to kill my mom.  So we got hitched at the courthouse on a lovely Thursday morning in front of a few family members and friends.  You can peep some pictures of the event on Land of Nitsy, which I've finally gotten around to updating.

Married life is good and seems natural to me.  I don't know if this is a good thing, a bad thing, or just an observation, but I feel like I've been married to Nick for at least five years already.  I'm not sick of him at all, I just feel like I can be my natural self around him.  I don't feel like I have to hide anything from him, or worry that some discovery will set him running.  I don't worry that he's going to stop loving me or liking me.  And logistically it hasn't been a tough adjustment either.  Of course I've been doing more cleaning than when I lived with the lovely house-keeper Mandy, and I've been cooking more than when I lived on my own and dined on Funions and Diet Coke most nights.  But other than that, life has just been going merrily along mostly blissfully along with the occasional misunderstanding or squabble.

In other news Nick's truck, his faithful compadre for the last 12 years, finally gave up the ghost last week.  After one day of debating whether or not I could become a full-time bicycle commuter we decided to look at cars.  I might still try to bike to work one or two days a week to take advantage of living so close to work in such a lovely climate, but I still need to buy a bike and become a little more comfortable with the idea before that happens.  Anyway, we went to our local Carmax and I instantly fell in love with this adorable black Prius.  It is so nice and fun to drive.  Plus it has some fun extras that make the monthly car payment (which I haven't had to deal with for about 3 years now) practically painless.  AUX jack?  Back-up camera?  Keyless entry?  6 disc changer?  More than 40 MPG?  YES, PLEASE!!
