i think i'm addicted to shopping
So, the past couple weeks I've been doing a ton of shopping, even though I really don't have any money. I rationalize it because I'm getting rid of a lot of clothes. I got rid of 2 huge bags yesterday.
So, today I was at Mendicino, which is one my favorite stores. I tried on the same top in cream color (i love wearing white in the summer), and in black. I liked both of them a lot, but I decided to go with the black one. It was more slimming, and will be more versatile. I wanted to get both, but it was too expensive. Anyway, the shirt is gorgeous. It's got an eyelet pattern, with tiny balls of fabric on the neckline and along the bottom. Then, it's got an embroidered band under the bust. It's open in the back with a string that has tassles to tie. It's got butterfly sleeves.
Then, the other day I bought a wrap top (in black) that has little ruffley thing on it, and really creates a nice hour glass figure. I also got a super loose multi colored top, that has a stretchy band to keep it's shape. Also, I recently bought a dress, a few t shirts, and two pairs of flats. It all sounds bad when you put it together.
The thing is, my whole wardrobe is basically jeans and t shirts (I'm a self proclaimed comfy girl). For the past 3 years, I've basically had one nice outfit to wear to fancier events. Now that I'm older, I really want to have good quality pieces. As I get older, I want to look more put together on a daily basis. Also, my summer job this summer requires that I look put together (I'm working in a hospital). I'm more excited about wearing my new clothes than actually doing the job, lol.
Other than my shopping, not much is going on. I'm taking this week off before I start my job, and have been doing some MAJOR relaxing. It's so nice. I didn't get high enough marks in field to go to the second year of my program, so I'm super glad that I made other plans for next year! Also, I went to a k'naan concert on Wednesday. It was super lame, as we waited around (standing) for 3 hours before he came on, and then he only played for like 40 minutes. Whatever, it was free, but it was still super annoying!
