Footie Newsletter (finally!)

Nov 05, 2006 22:02

*sigh* After many delays and distracting events (what a horrid day in footie--'cept for Man Utd, go Devils!), I finally get around to posting about this week's UEFA games. Hope that y'all enjoy this!

Milan vs Anderlecht: 4-1

OMG YAY WE SCORED! Ricky scored thrice and Gila (finally) scored again, wheee!!!! Now, I know that this is rather old news and that everybody has already whooped and squeed over our victory, so I'll just shut up and let the pics talk.

Awww...he's so happy! (Let us just stare and be reminded of happier times. FUCKIN' ATALANTA *SOBS* )

Yay, go Ricky!

He's about to get a nice hug from pretty Gorky (heureuse de t'avoir de retour!) ...

Oooh, a big rossoneri manpile! (I see Paolo! It looks like he's nibbling on Kaka's ear.....*dies*)

Red and black make such a pretty combo! What a beautiful sight for sore eyes. (I still see Paolo!!!!)

*stares* Beautiful indeed....me lovey the white shorts! (Holy Maldini, God's culo!!!)

Of course, nobody wears the rossoneir jersey like Paolo himself does! *worships her God*

Gila, of course, had his own little celebration going on, over which there was much fangirling:

I'm insanely jealous of Brocchi (?), who's playing the bongos on Gila's err...cheeks. XD

Naturally, he managed to get himself carded for overcelebrating. *shakes head* What a puppy....

For more absolutely breath-taking pictures, I strongly recommend this post by Ruby. (Of course, most of you have been there already. But a second--or third or fourth--look sure doesn't hurt!)

Moving along, we have Inter who went to pay a visit to our Russian friends over at Spartak Mosvka and look ridiculously hot while doing it. That doesn't mean in the least that I cheer for Inter. Oh no, per favore, io no sono interista! But...erm...I will admit that their players are not bad to look at. *runs for cover*

LOL. Matrix and his weird headgear....remember this ?

Holy Maldini.....*whimpers* The glasses!!!!!! Bah, they should all wear their glasses on the field and err...reflect their opponents to death. *GUH* Between Fabi, Ricky and Micha, I think that I'm in geek-heaven.....(infinite thanks to
azzurriangel for the hawwwwwt Fabi pic!)

Inter vs Spartak Mosvka: 1-0

Looks like Figo is getting the star treatment. What a prima donna! (Notice Mancini giving us the evil eye.)

Figo again, here with a very blond Russian friend and showing off his thigh....

..while Matrix was busy making funny faces...

...and wearing very yellow sneakers...

...and adopting weird poses... (There is no end to funny/weird/huh? pictures of Matrix.)

And since it was rather cold in Russia, as demonstrated by Marco's fuzzy hat...

...Ibra decided to don leggings underneath his shorts. *snickers* Very manly indeed...

All right, enough of Inter. *does the cross gesture* Let us take a little interlude and go see what's up with Alessa and Juventus in Serie B... (they're all for you Reesey!)

Juventus vs Brescia: 2-0

Well, whaddya know, Alessa scored his 201th and 202th goals. Who-hoo, go Ale!

His team was obviously very happy, oh yes.

And before the match, he was given an all-times captain's armband!

Awww...congratulations Alessa!

It was also to commemorate Juve's 109th (!!!) anniversary. May the Zebra Stripes keep on playin' and sluttin' for yet many years to come!

All right, back to CL now. *clears throat*

Chelsea vs Barcelona: 2-2

Well, since I don't care particularly for either team, I'm just happy that Frankie scored, yesyesyesyes!!!

Oh dear Maldini, he's so freakin' cute! *squee*

According to Yahoo's captions, Lampard is "second down right", lol. Those Chelski boys just can't contain their sluttiness, tsk tsk...

See what I mean? This is them leaving the pitch and off to have post-match sex in the locker rooms

There was this whole thing with the referee, when JT got carded...

...but I was too distracted by this:

..to pay any proper attention. *sheepish* Sorry JT, Jose and Frank and all those UEFA officials now ripping their hair out over this.

This also being Barca, that means....*drum roll*...

Zambro! Not carrying a Messi around his front this time, thankyouverymuch.

It's nice to see that il Duque is still all grabby.

Highlight of the match:

Xavi Hernandez and Frankie doing erm....I'm not quite sure what exactly.....O.O

Also in Spain, Real (unsurprisingly) crushed Steaua:

Real Madrid vs Steaua Bucuresti: 1-0

Wow, look at Canna distracting his opponents with his culo cosmico!

On his knees.....naturally.....*choking fit*

Speaking of HRS, here he is with Roger Federer, who was in town for the Madrid Open:

*dies from possible footie-tennis slash*

For Meg:

Ruuuuuuuuuuudddddd!!!!!! (He scored, whee!)

And a nice pic of Becks because well...it's Becks.

Back in Italia...
AS Roma vs Olympiakos: 1-1

Oi, you Greek person, get your hands off our crazy Roman capitano!

Ooooooh, he's concentrating. FOCUS Cesco, FOCUS. So that you can score and do this...

...while your team does this:

Awwww...he's so happy about his goal! (Are you going soft on us Fra'? Don't worry, we love you anyways. ♥ )

Wet kit + pulling = definition. *grins*

All right, let us go see what our favorite Germans (minus England-bound Micha and Jens) have been up to...

Werder Bremen vs Sofia Levski: 3-0

We have some not-so-ballerina Torsten here...

..some rather aggressive Miro here...

...an even taller-than-usual Per here...

...a very happy-about-their-troucing team here...

...and a spiritual Fringsters here. Now that's something that you don't see everyday. (Either that, or it's just a bad picture, lol.)

Unfortunately, Bayern didn't do as well in Lisbonl...

Bayern Munich vs Sporting Portugal: 0-0

Poor Lahmi's attempts to score were once again foiled, this time by tall(er) men in stripey green socks.

And since neither Schweini nor Poldi played, all I can offer you are pics of Phil and Ollie. *pouts*

All right, so Bayern has stripey socks too...at least they don't have horizontal striped shirts! (Vertically striped is perfectly acceptable, even encouraged---see under "Stripes, Zebra")

Aw, tough game for Ollie. In fact, it hasn't been the best of times for the Munchkins. But hey, at least they're still third (?) in the Bundesliga!

And finally, we come to merry ole England, where there was much joy in Liverpool and much exasperation for the Gunners and the Devils. But first, the good news:

Liverpool vs Bordeaux: 3-0

Stevie was overjoyed. On every picture, he is happy happy happy!

And he had reason to be, for that he scored his first goal of the season.

Who-hoo, go Stevie!

Some nice Liverpool sights to wrap the happy part up. *sigh* Now comes the less-good news...

Arsenal vs CSKA Moskva: 0-0

I just realized that there are two teams from Moscow that are qualified for the UEFA champs. *is impressed*

Awwww...poor Cesc. *pets*

Titi missed a goal. *tears* A sad Titi is just unbearable! That man should always be smiling.

(Taken from the day before, at practice.)

Oh, and Man Utd managed to loose to Copenhagen....FERGIE!!!!

Manchester United vs Kobenhavn: 0-1

Tried he did, but Roonz just couldn't get the ball in the net.

And neither could Ronnie. Damn, he didn't cry

But they did, however, all look very cute and dorky at practice, as per usual:

We've got pretty Cricri jogging around here...

And Scholes and Wayne stretching here. LOL. (Please tell me that I'm not the only one finding this funny?)

All right, as it stands now, the group leaders are Chelsea, Bayern, Liverpool, Valencia, Lyon, Man Utd, CSKA Moscow and Milan. Well, whaddya know, almost all my favorites are leading, who-hoo!

And that, was the end of another Footie Newsletter. I hope that you all had a swell time, I'm off to have a not-so-midnight snack! ♥
