No, it doesn't refer to me, but to my currently biology lab technician. It turns out that she's a well-established country/folk/soft rock singer too! Her name:
Allison Lickley. She just released her new album "You Might Find Me Here" this Thursday! To say that I'm flabbergasted and pleasantly surprised would be an understatement by far!!!!
Let me explain:
I went to my school's annual Talent Show tonight, where she was a special guest. She performed her new song "Mountains" off her new record. Her performance was amazing and felt so personal, she was touching and had such a beautiful voice!
You can check out her Myspace page and play the song "Mountains"
here.
She's taking the next few years off to do tour and do music full-time. I'm so happy for her, she's a lovely person and so nice and helpful. (I know this because my lab partner's protocol for any lab consists of asking the technician to confirm every single step! Lol, oh Geoffrey.)
Anyway, I wanted to share this bit of news. Go check her out, and even buy her album! It's available on Youtube as well. I'm going to track down a CD copy of it and buy it myself. Go Allison!
So yeah, I spent the afternoon with an old childhood friend, eating pho at Chinatown and then walking along the Old Port. We wanted to go there before the heat and the tourists started imposing their presence. We had some Ben&Jerry's (Chunky Monkey ♥ And Free Cone Day is coming up on April 29th peeps!) and sat there to talk and catch up. Old Port was beautiful today, filled with people but not too full, and the weather was mild and breezy. Now if only I could do something with that pesky sun allergy....*sigh*
Then I went to meet up some friends and we went to play on swingsets (yes, we're in touch with our inner children, thankyouvermuch ;D ). Then we headed to school, on a Saturday yes, for the Talent Show.
Okay, bed now. Work tomorrow @ 9:30 AM, eeeks!
