I had some interesting dreams last night:
1)I was in Florence with my mother, in a Fiat, escaping mobsters/killers/bad guys. There was a motel with yellow walls involved somewhere. And...seashore? (Now that's just plain ridiculous, brain. You know perfectly well that Florence has no access to the sea and that is why it was crucial for them to keep their seaport towns back in the Renaissance!)I remember thinking about the "Arno bridge" at some point (brain obviously couldn't handle Ponte Vecchio, either).
2)I was in New Orleans on a school trip, and the boat I was on was some kind of two-part steamboat, joined in the middle as a two-part bus would (sorta like
this). My friends and I were making all sorts of fabulous plans about the places we wanted to see, and I really wanted to try Southern comfort food and take a picture of Bourbon Street. But then I ended up spending all my money on candy and that was the end of that adventure.
3) The boyfriend and I were somewhere doing something with a bunch of ou friends. (Details clearly aren't my subconscious' forte.) Then he did something stupid and completely banal like make an appointment with a figure of authority and no show up to it. As a punishment, he was incarcerated and about to get freakin' executed. I think it was supposed to be a beheading? Yeah, I was not pleased about that at all. In fact, I was so worried about whether or not he would get that first-time-clemency thing (he did) that I totally fogot to question what kind of sick, totalitarian state I was living in. So the boyfriend was freed, but he forgot to wait for me and took a wrong bus while carrying my bag. I had to take another bus and hope that he found me...it got a bit blurry after that.
There might have also a few other snippets of dreams that I can't remember now or that I've confused with previous ones. The reason why I had so much TIME to dream was that I slept, huh, about 18 hours straight from 6PM last night to 12PM today. Pulling all-nighter in order to study last-minute for finals is so not working out. Never mind that I've done it twice this last week...I must change my ways! (C'mon, self-discipline, come to meeeeee!!!)
But point is, spring weather has finally settled in a not-skippy-kinda way here, the sun is shining and I am one week away from summer vacation. The boyfriend and I have been together for practically two (omg) years now. And now I really, really want to go to New Orleans, which is a destination that I've never wanderlusted about before. You know, with the muggy weather and the Mardi Gras and fusion food and historical settings and....right, I'll be looking up online deals in you're searching for me.
