Birthday at Spinners
Just a quick note to say that people are fantastic :) And that I am totally unobservant.
Halfway through Night Owls (craft group) tonight, I noticed a congregation in the kitchen and a cake-like shape. That was the first time I noticed anything unusual going on. Turns out Mom had managed to get me a cake without me noticing, even though we'd gone to Night Owls together - she ordered the cake and got Katy to pick it up and bring it. And there were candles that said "Happy 21st", and everyone sang, and everyone had signed a card that I hadn't noticed anyone sneaking off to sign... and the cheesecake was yummy :)
And I was given three presents that hadn't been originally intended for me! Geraldine had a jar of 1 and 2 cent coins she wanted to get rid of, which I claimed. Jenny gave me a pretty green sort-of-shawl she'd crocheted - originally for herself, but she decided to give it to me. And when I was explaining this to others, Jane reached into her basket and handed me some superwash wool roving in various blues. And I bought myself twenty 50g skeins of pretty blue cotton, but that doesn't count.
So I've had two cards, three presents, two cakes (tonight's and at Guides on Monday - I made that one)... and my birthday isn't until tomorrow!
