Ah, internet, how I have missed thee.

Long story short, my hard disk is dead. Kathy and Lauren are in Montreal. We baked peanut butter cookies (with chocolate chips), and we're sitting around with Spiderman 2 on the tv, taking turns with Kathy's computer. Went to the Biodome today, Kathy has pictures.

If I hadn't known already, I would have been very much struck by how much Canadians (or at least, Quebecers) are obsessed with penguins. sushidelight would love it here - the amount of funny penguin things, penguins in souvenir shops (when there aren't even any penguins in this hemisphere at all), penguins in Christmas trinkets (usually penguins in santa hats and scarves, often with skis) is just amazing.

I had more to say but I can't think of it. Peanut butter cookies going to the head, and Lauren is reading over my shoulder and laughing at me.

Oh - it was freakily warm today. As in, it was about 6 degrees. The other day, Lauren and I caught ourselves saying the it should be about -5, -5 is a good temperature. We're going to have a little trouble adjusting to temperatures back home, methinks. But the bad thing is that it rained today (haven't seen rain in weeks), and it was warm, so all the snow from last week and the weeks before is melting and going all ick, and it probably won't snow again in the next couple of days. So we may not have a white Christmas after all. Very sad, and odd since there's been permanent snow everywhere in Montreal for the last month.

I'm going to go now, so I can give Kathy her computer back shortly. I don't really need to sit here rambling. Just goes to show what a week's internet deprivation can do to you.

(Thanks to Lauren for proofreading this as I type. Living in such close quarters is an interesting experience!)
