I got back from kung fu last night and I was as tired as anything. We did a lot of kicking and punching. The classes are starting to become more regulated now as we continue to grind the basics into our memories. We also worked on forms . I learned the rest of my show form and practiced the basic forms again. Then we had sparing practice. That was fun! No seriously it was! I got punched the face! Matt (one of the older students) came in to block my punch and throw a punch to my throat, but what he didn't tell me was that he was going to mix up. For the past 5 minutes he came in along side me, but this time he decided he was going to cross over my throat. I, still used to the other form came in fast. Thus he missed my throat and hit me clean in the lip instead with an elbow. This caused my lip to bust open and bleed. I think he has it for me because that's the second time that I've gotten injured while working with him this week. On Tuesday I went to throw a high kick and his block went straight into my ankle joint. He sends me to go rub it out on the side until I walk on it again. Now remember, I giggle furiously when I get injured. I don't know why this is, apparently some masochistic side of me finds it amusing that some bit of me is bleeding/throbbing/swelling/ect.My other class mates stare at me strangely and ask me what's so funny. One of the students points out that its my way of dealing with pain because my ankle has got to be throbbing. It was, but I wasn't going to admit that.
I think I startled Matt a bit though when I snapped my head back into place and continued on with the drill. I do that to most people though during a fight. According to my room mate I just don't look intimidating or threating. So when I snap back or slug somebody its usually a surprise. How did she put it? I'm like a cuddly little kitten -with two inch teeth and claws. I can see how that wouldn't up my threating factor. It's hard to be tough when you're a fluff ball. ^^:
