He stares at the feed for a moment, careful to keep his expression neutral out of trained respectful habit even though he doesn't click on the video function himself. (One never knows when the communicator is going to throw one for a loop.) He's silent for a moment and when he replies its with careful consideration and a delicately controlled tone of voice.]

I have never heard of a reindeer before--forgive me. Not to be rude but, you are capable of preforming this deed on your own?

That's fine, and it's not rude. It happens a lot, but I was trained well by two really good doctors. I wouldn't offer to help you if I didn't think I could do my best or if I couldn't do this all on my own.

[It was all true, somewhat. He was used to the reactions and the doubt. Afterall, he was a talking doctor reindeer. Still, being accepted by new people and dealing with that doubt... it was hard, but he'd always told himself not to get upset. And he wouldn't.]

No, I used to just be a regular reindeer that didn't talk. I became like this when I ate a fruit called a Devil Fruit. We have those where I'm from. When you eat them, you get special powers. There aren't a lot of them, and there's only one of each kind, so that means I'm the only talking reindeer in my world... that I know of at least.
