So. I met someone. Heh. She's totally amazing, but not out, so I don't really get to talk about her a whole lot on Facebook.* I realized I hadn't posted in literally forever. I keep track of everybody, but don't actually say anything about my life (unless it's something incredibly emo, which I have been less of, hence the lack of posting). But now, I have something good to post about. Really, really good.
I met N via the internet. It's funny. The website I was using seemed to indicate that we didn't have that much in common, which is really amusing, because we actually have a lot, down to the fundamentalist Christian upbringing. She works for the branch of the county that refers clients to my organization. She's a twenty-two, which makes her a LOT younger than me, but she's finished with college.** She's an avid unicyclist and clown. I never in a million years would have thought I could date a clown, but she really is adorable, as opposed to creepy. She loves to play board games and can kick my ass at both Scrabble and Boggle. She's learning to play chess for me. She's never played an RPG or CCG, and while I may see if she's up for RP-ing, I don't plan on going anywhere near a CCG (as those eat lots of money). She's very sweet, if kind of mainstream; and she's amused by my geekiness.
We've been dating for about a month and a half, so nothing super-serious yet, but it's nice and has potential. She didn't run screaming when I told her about all my baggage. She has the most entertaining curmudgeonly cat I've ever met. He keeps attacking my leg out of nowhere and has drawn blood on more than one occasion. Makes me think of K's cat, Diana.
My parents had us over for dinner last night. I made rocking awesome Italian chicken in wine sauce with baked potatoes and canned peas (because she likes canned peas). It went very well. My parents are very low key people, so it wasn't a big to do, but it was really nice. They like her a lot, and she likes them, which is good. I'm totally crazy about her, and now, Erie doesn't seem like such a terrible place to be.
* Which is actually good, because the whole Facebook relationship function feels...hokey? Or something.
** One of my new dating requirements. People's lives are in flux in college and the have the whole world awaiting them when they are done. I'm a little more settled at this point in life, thus anyone in college would not be a good fit.
