following the wedding blog trend....
we have gotten a ton of stuff accomplished in the last few days. we finally made a first draft of our guest list, 120 people. we'll send out invitations in waves, to the most important people first to RSVP, then a group of people we want there but could live without, and then people that we feel we're just obligated to have. that way we can knock off or add people to the last list if necessary. so i will be needing addresses! everyone on my LG account is invited, so you will be getting a first wave invitation.
we will be having a twilight/evening ceremony with a night reception.
also, we think we finally found a place! it's called Sycamore Springs in Bethpage. way out in the country, but it's gorgeous. my dad built it for a realty company he worked for about 10 or so years ago. it has a covered bridge at the entrance, then you take a long paved driveway past a huge pond with a dock then you drive up a giant hill to the cabin, which is about the size of KTBs house plus half. it also has a two tiered deck area with a hot tub, public restrooms, bar and kitchen area, and all tables and chairs are included. there is also another area below the house that is like a basement level deck. the entire place has the best view, because its in the middle of nowhere and on a mountain. and thats just from what i remember from being there about 6 years ago. we are going sometime next week for a walk through, here are some pics from their facebook.
the A-shaped part is the back of the cabin on the second floor, that probably where we'll have the ceremony. to the left is the two tiered deck with the bar and kitchen underneath.

its $1500 for 3 days, Fri-Sun. we cant get it for only one day, but from our savings we think we'll be able to afford that. for the extra days, we were thinking of staying there with our wedding parties the night before, or the wedding night to save us some travel time and exhaustion before we honeymoon. or if anyone wants to have it to themselves for a night, you can help us pay for it and have it for a night! we havent decided about any of that yet.
and also ive picked 2 of my 3 bridesmaids. the 3rd is a choice between 2 or 3 people, its a hard decision. you'll all know as soon as i do!
