the beginning of the end....

SO- yesterday was my last first day of class as an undergraduate student at UGA. How sad is that. I mean, yeah its real exciting, but it also means that in just a few short months I will really have to grow up and make some big time decisions. And that is pretty darn scary. But, I dont wanna think about that right now. So instead I will tell you about my schedule- cuz it rocks! I have all of my classes on tuesday and thursday with the exception of a 2 hour lab I have on Friday morning. I was sitting in my mycology class with only 15 other people... which is definately the SMALLEST class I have ever been in while a student here, and was thinking how awful it was gonna be to be in a class this small and have to actually pay attention the whole time and get to know all the new people around me and talk about fungi for an hour and 15 minutes. And then, Becky walks in the room and sits right in front of me. I was shocked... like she graduated 2 years ago! Turns out she was only 11 hours away from getting a second degree in biology and the aquarium in ATL wont start hiring until decemberish... so she decided to come back to school! So yay! I started off my college career with her and now I will get to end it with her too! CRAZY how that works, huh? Turns out she is indeed getting married.. I think she said some time in March. that in itself is just weird. She has never really been the settle down type. But, anyway, I am super excited about that class now.

AND- my class I was really worried about... the intensive lab.... yeah- Im not so worried any more. The teacher went over the syllabus with us and pretty much said that we werent going to follow any of it. AND added that, while his stats arent listed on the key, he gives about 98% As and the rest are usually withdrawals. SWEET! The first lesson he taught us... and I quote: "Shit happens in lab." He talked for like fifteen minutes about how we all screw up and we are just here to get through the class together so as long as we make the effort, thats all that matters. And, he said that most of the time we do experiments that require 90 minutes of just sitting around and waiting for stuff to happen, so we can leave and get lunch and come back, OR stick around and do the crossword competition that they hold. Whoever completes the most crosswords at the end of the semester gets a prize. How fun is that?!?!?! so I am pretty darn excited about all of this jazz. Maybe senior year will be just as great as I had hoped it would be.

Anyways, I am off for a friendly game of raquetball. I will catch yall later! HOLLA1
