OMG OTAKON part 2

So Otakon has come and gone once again. However, this year was much more pleasant than last year! I quite enjoyed myself this year, which is surprising. I was thinking of not going next year, because this convention is getting too expensive, but now...I'm not so sure. The weather (except for Thursday...NOT FUN TO DRIVE THROUGH POURING RAIN IN A BRAND NEW CAR D:) was perfect. No humidity, mid-80's, and a nice breeze! The hotel...was freakin' awesome. It was a lil' further walk than the Marriot, but it was quite nice! We had a suite, which was gigantic, and it came with a microwave and fridge, which I now want in every convention hotel room I ever stay at again. Plus we had free breakfast, which was nice to have. And they bacon. And waffles. You can't beat that!

Thursday: Thursday consisted of driving up there in the pouring rain, in my brand new car I got a few weeks before the convention. It was scary, since I couldn't see at all, AND I was driving in MD, and MD drivers can't drive! Thankfully it cleared up by the time we got up there so we didn't have to drag our luggage in the pouring rain.

We arrived at the Hampton Inn and they made me sign a waiver stating that if we get a noise complaint, we're outta there. They had a very strict no party policy, which was fine with me, because then I don't have to hear people screaming down the hallway at 3 am. :D As I said before, our room was gigantic. We could've easily fit 8 people in there, and the fridge and microwave was just so awesome!! Eventually all the roommates showed up and around 7, Roger, Miranda and I went to get our badges. Which we were then confused. Because there was no line. At all. We got our badges in 5 minutes. So then we went to Edo Sushi for sushi and then went back to the room and helped Melissa with her fashion show stuff :D

Friday: Friday consisted of eating our FREE breakfast and then getting ready. I wore my "Summerized Steampunk" costume, and we wandered around. We found Envi at her perch eventually and decided to join her in her perching. We bumped into Firelily as well! :D We eventually wandered into the dealer's room, where I bought more useless cute things.

Friday evening consisted of helping Melissa with her fashion show. I was originally going to be a model but I dropped out because the Yoshida Brothers concert was at the same time. So I helped her out by doing the make up for the models. I think I made up like 5 girls in 30 minutes? I dunno, but was amazing lol. Poor Roger was in a room full of like, 15 girls getting their hair and make-up done and being put into fluffy lolita outfits lol. After all that was done, Roger and I went to the Yoshida Brothers concert, which was FANTASTIC. I'm really glad I went, because they were amazing! I wish I bought a CD because they were sold out on Saturday :(

Saturday: I got into my somewhat revamped Fire Priestess (OMG I HATE THAT WIG SO MUCH) and wandered around some more. We went to the Dealer's room where halfway through the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. So, there was like, 28,000 nerds outside the BCC. We went back to the room and ate lunch until we were allowed back in. Once we were back in we went back to the Dealer's room to finish shopping for things. We also went to the masquerade, which I thought was a bit...lackluster this year? I've seen better ones.

Sunday: Sunday consisted of checking out and shopping again. We also went to Envi's perch and perched. Then drove home. :D

All in all, I had a wonderful time and couldn't of asked for better weather!! We'll see if I go next year, I'm still unsure.

And now, 6 months later:
