In-progress pics

Well, sorta in-progress. My steampunk costume is actually pretty much done except for some minor (very minor) hand sewing! :D Roger's vest is almost done too, I gotta sew buttons and buttonholes on it, and get a lil buckle and it's done! Yay!

Here's some pics:

For my steampunk, I wanted to get away from the normal steampunk colors of brown, black, and white. I also didn't want my costume to be dirty or anything because my character likes being clean :P But anyway, the costume was originally supposed to be purple but I couldn't find the fabric that I wanted, but I found it in this red so I went with that. For the jacket I used this pattern. The only thing I really altered was that there are no buttons in the front. I wanted it to look like a double breasted jacket but I couldn't figure out how to alter it that way so I just put velcro in the front :P The jacket is completely lined, and has boning in it.

For the skirt, there's actually 3 skirts. The train, the a-line skirt, and the "ruffle-butt" skirt. The "ruffle-butt" skirt is this pattern and it was actually really easy to construct! On the sashes I painted lil' skulls and crossbones :P For the trim, I attached some fancy Venice lace. The A-line skirt is of my own pattern, and the train is altered from the pattern I used for my Water priestess skirt. I'm not totally happy with the train, but it'll do. I'll also be able to put up the train, so I walk around without carrying my train :P

As for my "underwear" (not pictured), I made a new corset for that is made from crepe-back satin, and while it looks fine on the outside, just don't look at the lining...O.O; I will never use that fabric again. Anyway, this corset I used more straight steel bones than spiral steel so it's a bit more...squeezing. :P I also made god-awful awesome bloomers too. They are so awful that they are awesome LOL.

I also made the choker out of black satin and left-over lace I had. And I made the necklace. :D

I will also have an awesome bubble gun that lights up! I will also have my Steampunk Hello Kitty rifle with me too at AUSA :3 I really can't wait to wear this on Saturday!!

Hopefully I will see you guys at AUSA next weekend! Again, I will be arriving sometime Friday evening (I has to work), so I will not be cosplaying. Saturday, I'll be wearing my steampunk, and Sunday I'm not wearing any costumes. Wee easy packing!

Now to do laundry!
