sophie's unbelievably predictable and not very funny revenge
wlekdlkjdfkl... mom got a romantic comedy "sophie's revenge"... i'm sorry, they fail with in the romcom category. the whole slapstick thing utterly fails. the highlight for me only is ruby lin's hair. so short and adorable. and yao chen's decent. i don't think they give her enough credit on wiki [basically there's not account of her there]... i love romcom as much as the next gushing girl, but seriously, zhang ziyi isn't a slapstick girl and they should have reworked the story so it's not so cliched. i will say this about the movie tho... she falls a whole lot. ouch. and i'm "ha-ling" biased. i've loved his "are you happy song?" since i was a kid so ... again... biased... tho not my fave song, but i'll accept.
and the only thing that impressed me about the male cast members is that peter ho was in kamen rider... he used to be okay looking. he looks ... weird here. i can't put my finger on it. it's not just he got old older. like there are definite disfiguring features on his face that comes with age. but instead of making him more interesting, it makes him ... almost sleazy or something. i can't really decipher it. again, i think they could have gone with a different cast.
also so ji-sub was in it. i have yet to watch cain and abel or i'm sorry i love you or what happened in bali [all way to long] but still pleasantly surprised. he plays the annoying ex who's slightly intellegent but still neaderthal-isc frontal lobe is no match against the wiles of the feminine sex. .... too mean? for those who have the unfortune to watch "the ugly truth" ... he is the doctor character in that movie. ironically, he plasy a doctor here too. i will say this... he looked good in a suit. like... really good.
anyways point... the trailers in the beginning... LOL-out-loud.
