2011! Woo! Entered the year with smirnoff ice down my throat, all was good.
I have been busy filling in my journal for college over the holidays... in the last few days before I returned yesterday. Christmas was a time for relaxing and not doing work! It was good kind of Christmas. I saw my family, got the presents that I wanted, it all went by super fast. I had about 6 DVDs; Sin City, Watchmen, Sweeney Todd, Hachiko, Juno and District 9. Got the new Professor Layton game, the Lost Future, and finished that on Boxing Day. Haha, yes I cheated all the way through because I wanted to know the story out of anything. Shove the puzzles, TELL ME WHO THE BALLS CLAIRE/CELESTE IS! Cough. Got the first two volumes of the Sin City volumes, sweet. New HD TV with digital and feeview, aw yiss. And just loads of chocolate, clothes, books (even though I hardly ever read anymore so I've a strong sneaky suspicion that my mom bought those so she could read them), money and stuff. The only thing that sucked was that my laptop had broken all through the holidays, well until New Years Eve so... y'know, whatever. Also the fact I really wanted Watchmen and V for Vendetta graphic novels and Scott Pilgrim DVD (wasn't released 'til boxing day) and I never got them. My friend, she's the sweetest person I know seriously, bought me the first volume of Scott Pilgrim!
I really needed the holidays, was so good not to worry about anything and to sleep in again. Like today, I was so shattered when I got back from college yesterday I literally collapsed on my bed only to be dragged back out again by my brother. Maybe I should go to bed earlier, I have a knack for watching late night TV like South Park, Family Guy, Balls of Steel and Jackass. Y'know all the stuff that can't be shown in day time TV. Good news is college is successfully inspiring me to draw more. Today I have literally not put down my pencil. And I can't wait to learn more techniques in drawing. I don't really like drawing landscapes, since our subject for the next 12 weeks is surroundings, because perspectives are very challenging to do. Mostly I can't wait for the next theme, narrative. For that, we're doing figure drawing (so we're going to draw a nude model at some point, eep!) and stretching the skills we have from observation to imagination. That's after the 12 weeks of surroundings I guess. I have my first sculpture class tomorrow, so I hope that goes okay.
