I'm sorry for your loss, your uncle sounds like he was a really wonderful person. As for helping your aunt, inviting her over is a good idea, letting her talk - or not - about your uncle as she chooses, bringing back some sense of normalcy to her life, all of those are good things. I know that when my dad died I was grateful when people invited me over and just let me be part of the scenery, and talk or not. I hope that helps!
Sounds like your Christmas was packed with family and fun, and YAY congratulations for your good baby news! I'm glad you're doing well and that baby appears to be healthy. I think the crazy pregnant lady thoughts are pretty normal - roll with 'em :-). Here's a tip from me to C: when you're in labor, tell him *not* to tell you when you are having a contraction based on his study of the monitor. My friend R kept helpfully telling his wife H that she was having contractions because he was glued to the monitor, watching, until she grabbed him by his shirt, yanked him to her face-level, and growled, "If you tell me ONE MORE TIME that I'm having a contraction, I *will* kill you!!!"
They laughed about it but he later said he was so excited and distracted he didn't realize how stupid it was for him to tell her she was having contractions, like they would have escaped her notice. Hee! So, that's my only fatherhood tip for C :-).
Whether you use your LJ or not to talk about this amazing time and your thoughts about pregnancy and the baby and motherhood, you'll definitely be in my thoughts! If you do share it here, though, I'll be reading!
