Additionally, I think it would be educational if for the remainder of the semester you continued the tradition of making comparisons between the Welsh and smurfs. It sounds like a good graduate dissertation. (Speaking of which, book recommendation, in line with Borges, Out of Sheer Rage)
Beyond your generic emo-moment and castles in the sky, only slight progress on the staid approach to life. But given that the stated goals are to avoid emo-moments, as they are cliche journal occurrences, I believe the best recourse is to make your entries more like TV. So: I'd highly appreciate it if, in addition to the Smurf comparisons, you also provided more sitcom like summaries of your life - preferably with a simple plot where one of the flatmates does something that is misperceived by some subset of other flatmates, and during a period of confusion hilarity ensues, after which a sobering epiphanic conclusion is provided for all. Boys from next door should make frequent appearances to add to aforementioned hilarity.
