So... I got pissed off at my dad today. It seems that my baby brother is going to be home for the week with my dad which is always cool cause I don't get to see him enough as it is... but then when I called my dad tonight to tell him that I wouldn't be out for the neighbor's fireworks because I had Common Ground to go to tonight he first of all acted like it was some big bother to talk to me. *sticks tongue out childishly at dad*
Then he kept trying to hang up on me before I was done. *stomps foot childishly at dad*
Then I find out that he's going to be taking Brian to the family reunion in Detroit this weekend and didn't bother to mention it to me or my oldest brother. EXCUSE ME... are we not family anymore? *groans loudly at dad* HE is the one who gets the reunion mailings... HE is the one who needed to say, "Hey Craig & Kel... the reunion is coming up and I'm taking your brother... wanna go?" But nooooo... that's tooo fucking hard for him to do!
*takes a moment to be pissy*
It's not like I can just decide to go now either... for one, I'm broke as all hell and have to mootch from mom yet again to pay my rent. *rolls eyes at self* But on top of that, this is the Jones-Thomas-Patterson reunion where it's a friggin 3 day event that you have to pretty much pre pay for. They've got a party/dinner Friday night with a concurrent pool party for the kids (yeah, the family has taken over an entire hotel for the weekend), then Saturday is the BBQ on Belle-Isle (the island in the Detroit River between Michigan and Canada), then Saturday night is the dinner cruise on the big riverboat. I'm pissed off that I'm not going.
I was always the one who wanted to go to the reunions, and I got my dad to take me to it once when I was seventeen or eighteen. Since then he's never even flinched at the thought of going... now all of a sudden he goes and doesn't include anyone but himself and Peanut. I mean, I'm glad Peanut gets to go... but this is nuts. Glad to see that my plea last summer for him to communicate more openly with me did so well... *groans loudly again and goes off to write DE*
Oh wait... not done. Apparently he doesn't give a rats ass about my birthday this year either. But I'm not even going to get into that one now. Grr...
dad,
wtf?
