2008

The second photo of 2008... (the first one wasn't as pretty... lol).

That's on my way back into Lansing from Shawn's place in Grand Ledge yesterday. The roads were absolute shit, but it was pretty!

So NYE was fun. I didn't take any pictures *shocker* so I can't share any digital goodness with you. Basically though, I left the house early to go get Shawn a gift and then grabbed lunch before my massage. The massage was total bliss as usual then I grabbed a coffee from Starbucks before coming over here to my mom's to meet her. Mom and I went out to Shawn's around 5:00 and by 6:00 we were headed into GL for dinner at the new-ish Mexican restaraunt in town. We all had margaritas (Mmm...) and I was happily tipsy by the time we left the restaraunt a few hours later. We went back to Shawn's to waste some time and I popped online to buy us movie tickets. Despite the fact that we were under a Winter Storm Warning, we headed back out into the snow and went into Lansing to NCG to see P.S. I Love You. Ahhh... good movie! It's such a sweet film. Gerry is hotter than hot as is Jeffery Dean Morgan, Harry Connick, Jr., and James Marsters. Aside from the hot guys though... the movie is a great one. Take Kleenex and just go have fun with it. :)

At midnight we were on the road going about 30 mph on the highway. LOL Mom drove seperate so she could just go straight home after the movie so it was down to just Shawn and I by that point. I spoke to Louie on the phone shortly after midnight, and the quote of the night had to go to Shawn when her brother called her. She'd left a message to tell him that she loved him and Happy New Year and when he called back he says, "Are you drunk?" and she says, "No I'm not drunk, I'm driving in a fucking snow storm!" Hehe...

Of course the snow storm couldn't stop us from going to Meijer on the way home for munchies. So shortly after midnight we found ourselves at the GL Meijer where we bought munchies to last us through the night and then we finally went back to the house. We basically chilled in our pj's from that point on and I think we passed out around 3 or so for the night. We were both up by 11:00 on New Year's Day and by noon I was back on the road because Jon was coming over to spend the day with Shawn and well... yeah. I haven't seen or spoken to Jon since our whole "divorce" a few summers ago. I spent the rest of the afternoon partially at my brother's house with the kids, Heather and my mom, then I came over here once I realized I wasn't able to get into my driveway or park on the street. I cozied up on the couch and listened to the iPod (tuning out the Law & Order Marathon my mother was watching) and read my book until I couldn't stay awake and had to take a nap. LOL Then of course I stayed here last night and went to work this morning.

We still have to go to my house and shovel. I could have gone and knitted with the Girls if I'd known we were going to wait around so long, but oh well... I did however finish reading my book so that's been the highlight of my day. :)

Now... I'm out of things to say. hehe...
