So I get to be the wife tonight for a change. :) I got over to the shop after work and it turned out that Sabrina did in fact get someone to work tonight so that I could have a break. So I sat with the Wednesday Knitters for a little bit and then came over to Shawn's for Knit Night. She had an appointment to get her hair cut tonight though, so as I was arriving, she was leaving and instead of her cooking dinner for me, I get to cook it for her. Hehe... granted, she prepared what I'm cooking and I'm at her place but whatever... :) I have tomorrow night off too... bliss! :) I seriously need to clean my house again. I'm down to serving spoons and knives when it comes to clean silverware. LOL The next place I live will have a dishwasher. Oh yes, yes it will.
Speaking of the next place I live... I'm considering trying to sell my house and moving in with my mother. I'm at her house practically every day anyway and we'd be able to save money by splitting the mortgage. I think I'd be saving like two hundred bucks alone on the mortgage if I split hers with her. Of course trying to sell a house in this shitty market is kind of insane, but we'll see... so if I can get things fixed up maybe I can sell it and wash my hands of the house. Or, hell I might even be able to get an apartment again. Who knows. It wouldn't be so bad keeping my house if I could get a freaking full time job. I have officially put my name in for the Clerk position at the library though and that'll pay four bucks an hour more than I'm getting there now. But it's only 20 hours a week. I suppose though that means I might be able to get more hours at the shop again and sort of balance things out. *shrug*
Shawn's iPod charger does work on my Mom's iPod. Whoot. It's charging now. :) And once that's done I'll use her usb cord to load music onto it. Whoot. You should have seen me trying to turn the volume down on the iPod last night. LOL I've never used one in my life, I had no idea where to find the volume. hehe... much swearing was done. Thankfully, buying a new charger and usb cord isn't going to cost too horribly much, so eventually I'll do that. Although I should have my mother do it since it's technically her fault that she doesn't have hers. LOL
Oh and on the topic of music... I've listened to 5 of the tracks from Unbreakable. They're not all the greatest sound quality, but that's okay because the cd comes out next week... whoot! But yeah... wanna know what I think? ;o)
When I Close My Eyes... AJ hurts me on this one. It's pretty. "I'm alive." *le sigh*
Unmistakeable... This one is growing on me. I'm not sure it's single material, but maybe I'll feel differently once I hear the full cd version. :o)
Helpless When She Smiles... Best line ever, "She cuts me and the pain is all I wanna feel..." There are so many of what I call Missing Kevin Moments on this song, it kind of makes me sad. It's like in my head I can hear where he'd be and he's not there. :( The song is definitely growing on me though, I didn't like it much the first time I heard it.
Happily Never After... I've been listening to this one for a long time now. Still like it. Still kinda corny but it's a great message. And well, it's not even on the cd so... whatever. LOL
Intro and Everything But Mine... The intro is just beauuuutiful. It's nice to hear that they can still do a damn good acapella even without Kevin's bass. Kinda silly that after something so slow and bluesy that they go directly into a club-like song though. :op As for EBM... yeah, like it a lot. Can't wait to hear a clean version of it (and rock out to it in my car at an unhealthy volume... hehe).
And ironically, after I first heard Everything But Mine, the song "No Not Now" by Hot Hot Heat came on right after it which cracked me up because I'll forever associate that song with Nick and Kevin warming up before an Up Close & Personal concert to that song during one of the Nick's Corner videos. :) Hehe... Much love for that.
In other news... I had a hot lunch date today. :)
