My desktop weather lab says that it's 82 degrees but that the heat index is 81. That's a bit odd. ;op

Lj is currently not working, but I figured I'd go ahead and ramble a bit anyway and then post it once the server is back up and running. I know I owe a real post so i'm going to try my best. I've been rather blah since Florida and haven't much wanted to do anything online as you can probably tell. It's all of the usual things, nothing new... money, house, meds, etc. Nothing worth going on and on about.

My birthday was... weird. Not really bad, but just weird. I didn't see my dad and Brian at all, which is odd since I was actually in the state this year. Usually if I'm here we reserve the Family Table at Olive Garden and all have dinner together then maybe go mini golfing or to a movie. But this year Craig & Heather's plans sort of dictated what we ended up doing and I didn't even get to see my dad or Brian at all. I spoke to them both on the phone that night though. My dad was actually the first person to actually say the words "Happy Birthday" to me and that was at like 6 p.m. He was on his way to meet my step brother Justin for a beer so I guess he hadn't even planned on seeing me that day (he didn't know we were going out of town). As I think I mentioned before though, Craig had a ticket to go see The Police at the Palace that night (it was a Christmas gift) so six of us headed to Auburn Hills for the night. We had a suite at the Hyatt in Auburn Hills and while Craig was off to the concert, Mom, Heather, Devin, Ravyn, Wesley and I went to dinner. We went to On the Border for yummy mexican food (although they ran out of avacados so no Guacamole Live! for us. Bummer.). When it came time for the birthday celebration, the waitress made me stand on my chair and announced to the whole place that my name was Kellie, I was 31, and I liked to stand on chairs in Mexican restaraunts and dance. LOL She then went on to explain that if I stopped dancing that they'd stop singing and we'd be there all night. So with two Corona bottles in my hands (they use them for salt and pepper shakers) I stood on a chair and danced while they sang to me. Heather couldn't figure out my camera so she didn't manage to get a video. :op She basically got me climbing down from the chair.

After dinner we went next door to Boarders to browse books. I got some Harry Potter candy to send to my sock swap pal and then also got the next Marian Keyes book in her series. Mom bought all my stuff and she and Wesley picked out a frog bookmark for me too. Finally, we went back to the hotel and went to the pool to swim. The pool was so effing cold though that I didn't actually get in. I mostly just sat on the edge and held Devin half in and half out of the water. After the pool we eventually went back out to pick up Craig after the concert and then went to Tim Horton's for muffins and coffee (despite it was 11:30 at night). Wesley and I snuggled all night, and I decided that falling asleep with him and waking up with him was quite possibly the best birthday gift ever.

Oh and to Jen & Jen... tell Sgt. Carrie that I saw him in the traffic after the concert. I was one car too far behind him though to honk at him obnoxiously and wave. He better have had a customer with him if he used the TG suite for that concert. :op

Speaking of gifts, Ravyn drew me a frog and then cut it out and made a stand for it so that it sits up. It's darn cute. It has big huge pink lips too. LOL Then they also got me this cereamic frog plaque that hangs on the wall and can be used as a dry erase board too. Shawn treated me to the Harry Potter movie on Sunday, and then on Wednesday she called to let me know that she'd gotten us tickets to see Maroon 5 in September. *whoot* She also took me to dinner at Red Lobster that night once I was back in town. :)

Harry Potter Night Out was fun... it was just me and Shawn but we made the most of it. I didn't take many pictures, but I can show you the non alcoholic HP shots that we did at a ice cream shop. :)

Shawn had the Frog Slime...

And I had Snape's Potion...

After the Night Out, we drove back into town stopping by Starbucks in Okemos on the way back to Shawn's place. We took a short rest there and then went to the Grand Ledge Meijer at 10:00 so we'd be there to get in line at 11 and then get the book at midnight. While in line I heard, "Kellie I know you're not standing in a Harry Potter line!" and turned to see my girl Nicole from SHU. Hehe... She didn't even know about the whole HP thing, but her daughter had ironically wore a witches hat and cape to Meijer that night. :o) They'd been getting ready for a garage sale and decided to play dress up. :) We all stood in line to get the book and were fabulously close to the front of the line and then at midnight the GLPD brought the books out to cheers from all of us dorks. Seriously, the Grand Ledge Police brought the pallet with the books out. hehe... that was too funny. We were literally back in Shawn's car befoe 12:15 because we'd been so early in line, it was lovely. :) I read six chapters that night before making myself go to bed, and then as you know, finished the book Monday morning.

Saturday I went to see Wicked with Brian and Heather. Brian loved it, I loved it again, and I don't know if Heather liked it or not because she yawned and figited and complained about how tired she was. I just don't understand how someone can want to go to a musical and then not totally get into it. I'm sure it's just because I love the theater so much, but it doesn't make sense to me. I mean come on, who doesn't get choked up at "Defying Gravity" and "For Good"? Brian wants to see it again when it comes back next year (it's coming back for another three weeks), and I totally agree. :o)

Not much else is going on. I've been in between my house and mom's for the past few days, and last night we finally pulled up the carpet in my dining room. This weekend or next week we'll be working on the floors more and getting the house looking like someone actually lives there again. ;op Devin has a third tooth and is working on the forth. :o) Oh and I sprained my foot last week. Kira strikes again. Thankfully this time it wasn't my ankle, but it's in this weird part in my foot that is nearly impossible to stay off of to let it get better. I've been wrapping it and icing it reguarly and it's doing better. It's also the opposite foot this time from last time (I think... I'm pretty sure... I'd check but lj is still down and I can't go to the archives... *kicks lj with my good foot*).

And that, ladies... is my update. :) As soon as lj lets me post it, that is. :op
