although i live so far away now, I am obsessed with the coverage and the recontruction of New Orleans so badly. it's really quite pathetic. I've been following the elections, drafting research reports I want to do when I go down there this summer and trying to follow up on the whole rebuilding effort. I've learned a lot of disturbing things which is probably why I'm so obsessed with it. I just don't like the way it's being handled. Simple as that. I've seen a lot of distubing pictures of the aftermath and devastation - hell I was there - I know what it looks like. You can't convey it in pictures. This pic blew me away. It's not going to mean anything to you guys but I owned this same exact doll house when I was little. My mom made a huge deal when she bought it for me (hey - we were poor, this was a high ticket item for my family!!) It was a Christmas present, my family acted like I wasn't getting anything for Christmas and then bam, Playskool dollhouse arrived! I know it's corny...but it was my favorite toy for a damn long time. It came with the standard "white family" mom, dad, brother, sister....I made my mom by me the black family too so they could live together. Wow....I never even realized that until now. I was raised to well. Anyway - this is more for me then anyone else but whatever, it's my fucking journal.
