Ladies, ladies, ladies.....

Ladies....why must we dumb ourselves down?

I was out with L today running some errands when I experienced this little gem.

*Said in the worst valley girl talk you've ever heard*
"So, um, do you like, um, have like, any lotion that'll make me tingle?"
"Um, like ya, I think this stuff would be, like, super great for you and it smells like totally super too."
"Oh! Thanks! So like, I just, like, put the lotion on and stuff?"
"Um, ya, you like just apply it and it like, goes on."
"Like, Super!"

Have you ever listened to the song "Stupid Girls" by Pink? These two should have been in that video.

At what point in time did every twenty something year old female look in the mirror and say "Maybe if I start talking like this and act like a total ditz that would be like, totally super."

Do you really sound like this? I mean at home, when your guard's down and you're not fearing the judgement of another human being your age, do you actually speak in this dialect?

People dumbing themselves down is happening more and more. And it's not just with the women, oh no. The men are doing it to. If I see another guy with 3 bottles of gel in his hair lower his voice 6 octaves and yell out "Bro" while chest bumping his equally as greasy friend, I'm going to scream. This only further supports my theory that letting children watch shows like "Jersey Shore" and "The Hills" can actually be detrimental to society. I know, I know, but those shows are so much fun! It's way more interesting to watch a group of rich twenty somethings deal with their problems than actually live my own life! What the hell else am I going to do on Thursday nights? Besides, I'm already addicted to the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" and if I don't see what happens with Danielle, I won't make it through the night.

Letting children watch these shows are not just taking them away from us for the hour they're on, they're molding them into exactly what they see on the T.V. More and more I see women act this way, and they're getting younger.

Can you picture a world full of the Jersey Shore cast in 20 years? If the only role models we give our children are ones like these, that's exactly what it's going to be like. Instead of having dreams of a career and running for office, we're going to have die hard competitions of who can get the darkest tan.

We already live in an incredibly superficial world, and if we don't leak some sort of intelligence into these kids brains soon, Heidi Montag may be President one day.
