Day 4 - Tulsa to Santa Fe.

I am getting way behind in this. And I am really exhuasted today. Both Stephen and I were feeling the effects of altitude and all that travel today in Santa Fe.

So here is the story of the trip from Tulsa to Santa Fe in pictures.

A few short observations. As soon as we crossed the border into Texas, the landscape changed almost immediately. It was magical. The small ends of the branches of all the trees and bushes were sheathed in frost. It created these beautiful, soft white canopies of ice-leaves. As if all the flora was covered in cotton. I had never seen anything like it.

When we arrived in Amarillo, there was a strong smell I couldn't immediately identify. Smoky, burnt. BBQ. The second smell, as we got out of the car at the cafe, was easily identifiable: manure.

A "spiritual experience" Texas-style has to be the "largest."
