If you're no fan of the little scissors that LJ decided to inflict on its users for cut tag purposes, go here (to xylodemon's post) for the override code

(note: it's easy-peasy; I know next to nothing about css, but I didn't have to, since it's just a matter of copy/pasting)

Well that took care of the little scissor icon. Does it bring brackets back for you? I don't know CSS but it sort of looks to me like it should, and it doesn't for me.

The parentheses? Yeah, they're back in my journal (thank heavens)

They are in mine now too. I had done it wrong when changing the colours, so the new colour code wasn't working.

It should bring the parentheses back, but if you have a dark background on your journal it might not be showing up properly. You can get them to show up by changing the hexidecimal code from #000000 to whatever your font normally appears in.

Yay, thank you! I was going to try to get used to the scissors, but find myself unable to turn my back on a fix for visual changes. *g*

(Btw, did you get my email yesterday?)

...people do not like the scissors? Oh, dear. I actually like them; now I know when something's a link and something's a cut tag.

Creatures of habit, many of us are. :)

(plus, apparently the scissors don't show in some browsers...they're just a blob of "could not display" code. *g*)

Oh, that sucks! I do not like blobs.

Thanks for the link. I couldn't make it work for me and don't know if it failed because I'm still using S1, so I left a comment at xylodemon's post.

Continuing the fine tradition of being out of step completely with fandom: I like the scissors. They remind me of bullet points. In my style, they precede the cut tag, and that looks nice to me.

But at least I see I am not the only one, this time! Amazing.

Yeah, I kinda like them too. I think they're cute - and they show up the same way for me as well, before the cut tag. So I'm good. ;)
