Due to popular demand (okay, two enablers...and you know who you are!), I am introducing Two-Minute Warning: a multi-fandom fic challenge

Rules:

1. Clear your schedule for two minutes.
3. Then look under the cut tag, where you will find ten prompts, all of which are book titles (selected at random from my shelves).
4. Choose one of the prompts ( Read more... )

A Distant Mirror

Harry looked down into the mirror. “Accio Sirius,” he said, pointing his wand at the veil. A grey shape appeared in the glass, and a huddled body came flying out of the veil to land on the stone floor at Harry’s feet, shivering as if he were in the arctic wastes instead of the Department of Mysteries.

“Sirius?”

In response, Sirius, for indeed, it was he, was sick all over Harry’s trainers. Harry was so happy to have him back that he didn’t even complain, though his trainers were never wearable again.

He'd seen that look on his sister's face before; the smile she got when something or someone made her incredibly happy. How it reached all the way to her eyes, made them bright and warm. He had mixed feelings about that look most of the time. He wanted Mia to be happy, wanted her to find someone that would make her happy, would let her spin her life away from his to be more of her own ( ... )

Persuasion

Snape smiled at Harry, who stood back, his eyes wide and scared. "You know it's true. You know all of it's true."

"No. It can't be. I know you. I've known you for years and you hate me."

"And you hate that, don't you?" Snape moved closer.

"Yeah."

The timer went off just at that point. I was just lucky it was a good end point. Also, that I didn't have to answer the phone.

I had to try this one out :) I came here from the daily snitch a while ago after reading the First part of your story "Into the Cold".

I couldn't resist trying this, though it's a fairly obscure fandom that I picked.

Title: Women in Love
Words: 114
Fandom: Vergil's Aeneid

Dido of Carthage had always loathed the incredible sappiness of women in love. She could not believe the things they said and the way that they acted when their object of affection was near, or they thought he might be near. It made her sick and she vowed that she would NEVER act that way for any man.

Until she met Sychaeus who would become her husband. She could remember acting very silly for him. While she remembered those times with the shade of her head, she also remembered them with a smile.

That is, when she didn’t remember them in tears because he was gone, murdered out of greed by her own brother.

I can't believe somebody actually did the *Aeneid!* Hee!

Yep, I'm a geek. I'm the only person I've ever heard of that lists Vergil's Aeneid as a fandom! XD

I also write Nisus/Euryalus slash, which is actually canon. Books 5 and 9.

Thanks for creating this challenge! I really enjoyed it.

"You're tops at every other subject --"

"Because I study, Ron."

"Well -- studying, that's a lot like practicing, isn't it?"

Hermione glared at him. "If you had ever studied any subject in your life, I might give your analogy more credit."

Ron wasn't sure what an analogy was, but he thought it was probably a bad time to ask. Some muggle thing, most likely. "Hermione, you've flown on your broomstick before. I've seen you. Played Quidditch with you!"

"Badly."

The flying or the Quidditch? Both were accurate. Ron tried a new tack -- smiling at her and holding out his hand. "Fly with me, all right?"

Funny how well that worked.

Hee!

Meanwhile? I'll never forgive you for making me read Ron/Hermione. They made me turn in my "Harmionian/Pumpkin Pie" badge!
